The mission of The Fighting Chance is to improve health & wellbeing and get people back on the path towards work or training through boxing training and individual support.

The Fighting Chance is determined to change lives by providing motivational health & wellbeing and employability programmes for all client groups, particularly those furthest from the labour market. We draw on the benefits of boxing training to engage and inspire while offering personalised support that changes lives.

I founded the The Fighting Chance after a 20 year career in employability and recruitment. It was a great challenge to help people find work but I discovered there was a lack of support available for people, especially those struggling with health & wellbeing issues.

I developed a passion for boxing after becoming a member of my local club. I experienced at first hand the incredible & positive changes boxing training could deliver and witnessed the progress people made in their lives.

Our Story
I felt sport and boxing could provide real social value by helping people improve their physical & mental health, and their individual development. I realised the core principles of boxing training: discipline, teamwork & self-control gets people engaged and motivated. So, I set about developing a programme that linked the motivating power of sporting activity and training with intensive and personalised employability support.

I’m proud of the impact The Fighting Chance has had on so many people. We’ve seen them get into paid work, take up job-based training and set up their own businesses. We’ve seen them get to grips with their barriers to finding work.
